GREAT NEWS IN RECENTLY!
In 1996 Footstep made a worldwide Spanish language-learning series for the BBC directed and produced by one of the current core team. Her fixer in Guatemala City has just told her that ten of the kids she filmed working the city's rubbish dumps have been accepted for places in university and funded by a locally-based photography project.
TV doesn't get much more rewarding than that !
We are a small energetic production company based in London's Soho and in Hove on the south coast of England. We make TV, audio and multiple media packages.
Our core specialism is language-learning for young people but our award-winning track record has touched on geography, business, history, travel, current affairs and safety training for adults too.
Our clients are broadcasters, publishers, universities and businesses. Our motto is 'Learning is Serious Fun'.
The members of the core team come from BBC and Channel Four backgrounds. Their expertise is in direction, production, camerawork, scriptwriting (both documentary and drama) and casting.
Our filming kit is all in house and based around the latest and lightest miniDV-type equipment. Our cameraman/director first delivered broadcast quality miniDV to the BBC in 1997. We have always been ahead of the small-format game. We now shoot on HDV with an SD option at the edit.
We have a favourite bunch of people with all the other production skills who also work out of Soho. When not making its own productions, Footstep can also
offer a range of services to foreign production companies. We have just done exactly that for a company based in Sweden.
We have filmed worldwide making unique programmes for young people. We can work in nine languages.
